Obituary of Barbara Ann Falk
Barbara Ann Falk, EA, LTC, a lifelong resident of the Willamette Valley, passed away October 19, 2023 of natural causes. Born to Everett and Phyllis Falk of Junction City, OR, on February 1, 1944, she and her siblings were raised on the family farm off Highway 36 west of J. C.
After graduating from Junction City High School, she attended Southern Oregon College (SOC) for three years. When she 'flew the nest', she moved to Eugene, OR, where she spent the rest of her life. She worked for several businesses including the old Chef Francisco (Manning Foods), and others doing office and accounting work which led to her decision to go into the tax preparation business. Barb then worked in an existing tax office until the owner retired and then she bought that business and operated it as ABC Tax Services in Veneta and Eugene, OR, for about 25 years. In the meantime, she studied and obtained her certification as an EA (Enrolled Agent) Licensed Tax Consultant from Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. This enabled her to prepare not only taxes for individual clients, but to work in the broader financial arena and to represent clients at the Federal level. She ran her business until a few years ago when she sold it to Michelle Stogsdill, of the Veneta/Crow area but remained with the business as a consultant until her passing.
She was a member and/or an officer of numerous civic organizations in the area and in the accounting and tax preparation field. She generously gave of her time and expertise to many local, state and national organizations.
In her "pre-professional' life, Barb enjoyed sewing her own clothes (and sometimes her sister's). Several of her creations won awards
in statewide competitions. She also loved to read, especially mysteries, and playing pinochle with her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest sister, Tamara (Tami) Falk Durbin. She is survived by her other sister, Carole Falk Beebe (Gordon) of Bozeman, MT, and her brother, Larry Falk (Osalyn Houser) of Abany, OR., her nieces and nephews, her great-nieces and nephews, and her great-great nephews and numerous cousins scattered across the U.S.
At Barb's request, cremation has taken place with Musgrove Family Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memories and condolences may be shared on this website. If you so wish, memorials may be made in Barbara's name to SafeHaven Humane Society, 32220 Old Highway 34,Tangent, OR,97389.
