Obituary of Ralph David Moran III

Ralph David Moran, III "Dave" of Springfield, OR, passed away at age 72 from complications of vascular disease on October 22, 2023.  He was born February 17, 1951, in Portland, OR, the son of Ralph "Whitey" and Matilda Moran.

Dave's early education was in Portland. He moved with his family to Eugene as a teen and graduated from North Eugene High School. He attended the University of Oregon, and returned as an adult to complete his marketing management degree in 1991.

Dave worked for Albertson’s supermarkets from 1975 until his retirement in 2017. He worked at approximately 10 different stores during his career, most recently as the frozen food manager at the Thurston store in Springfield, OR. He had many friendships and valued his close work family.

Dave enjoyed socializing with friends, golf, bird hunting trips with family, vacationing and fishing for marlin in Mexico, and watching sports. His warm presence and kind heart will be remembered.

He is predeceased by his parents and his wife, Julia “Judy” Small-Moran, who passed in 2007. He is survived by his brother Doug, sister in law Judy, nephew Jeff, niece Michelle, and their families.  He had a close bond with his cousins. Dave will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
