Obituary of Michael James Hill

Michael (Mick) James Hill , Age of 75, Pleasant Hill, OR passed away on 10/12/23 in Springfield.

Michael was born in Eugene to Bill & Cleona Hill on January 19, 1948. He lived in Pleasant Hill and attended Pleasant Hill schools throughout, graduating in 1966. He served in the Armed Forces from November 1966 to July 1969. He then worked as a sawyer for Hills Creek Lumber and Zip-O-Log Mills. He retired after 30 years in 2007.

Over the years he enjoyed watching his grandkids sporting events, bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking. In 2012, he found his love of the sun in Arizona and continued to travel there each winter, where they met many new forever friends and loved to ride ATV’s in the desert.

He is survived by his wife, Jill (of 53 years), children Jeremy Hill (of Oregon City) and Shannon & Mike Spicer (of Eugene), granddaughters McKenzie Hill, and Brooke and Kennadi Spicer along with many close family members, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister (Betty Liebentritt of Omaha, NE) and beloved grandson Cooper Hill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Community Center located at 36386 OR-58, Pleasant Hill, Oregon.

Memorial donations may be made to charity of donor’s choice. The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude.
