Obituary of Marion Eileen Johnston

On Sunday, September 17^th, 2023, Marion passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She had just turned 89 on September 14^th. Her parents were Vivian  Eileen (Bemis) Schwartz, and Silas W. Schwartz. Her sister was Phyllis Jean (Schwartz) Sigette. Her beloved husband of 55 years, John Henry Johnston passed away in October 2017.

Before she retired, she served as the official court reporter for the Senior District Court judge, and as the head court reporter for the Lane County Courthouse, in Eugene, Oregon,

Marion, for years, was actively involved in service for her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and John served 6 missions abroad and in the United States.

She is survived by her son, Larry Blake and wife Cheryl of Veneta, daughter Jean and husband Doug Cogdill of Clinton, Utah, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Thursday, September 21^st at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Veneta, Oregon. She will be interred at Shelton Memorial Park in Shelton, Washington.
