Obituary of Robert Haley

Robert (Bob) James Haley, born June 24, 1941 in St Louis MO, went home to his loving savior on Monday August 21, 2023 in Springfield, OR of heart failure. He was 82 years old. Bob grew up in southern California and joined the Air Force at 18. He traveled the world through the military before meeting his wife in Monson, MA and settling in Salinas, CA until 1980 when he and his family moved to Eugene, OR where he lived until his passing. He received a Bachelors in mathematics along with a secondary teaching degree and worked for many up-and-coming technology companies before moving to Eugene. There he ran a day care center with his wife while working for the City of Springfield in data processing. His passion for computer programming lead him to teach software courses at Lane Community College where he taught for 33 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing golf, flying model airplanes, dancing, and being with his family. Bob and Helen
enjoyed many vacations with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Haley of Eugene, OR. He also leaves behind three sons; William Haley with his wife Bridget of Biloxi, MS; Edward Haley and his wife Theresa of Eugene, OR; Richard Haley and his wife Terrie of Stearns, KY; and one daughter, Sheri Stoddard with her husband Rick of Lexington, VA. Bob had five grandchildren; BriAnn Haley, Bryan Haley and his wife Victoria, Jessica Howell and her husband Sam, Alisha Haley, and Kirsti Wartenbee and her husband Wes. He also had six great grandchildren; AriAnna, Janessa, Mia, Logan, Aaron, and Ayden. Bob also leaves his brother, Wayne and wife Kathleen. He is  behind
predeceased by his sister, June.
