Obituary of Betty Loraine Roubal
Betty Loraine (Knightly) Roubal peacefully passed away on August 24 in Springfield, Oregon at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Roubal and her son Lewis Roubal, both of Santa Cruz, California. Betty is survived by her son Jeff Roubal and his wife Vivian, of Renton, Washington, son Gregory Roubal of Ubon, Thailand, daughter Roxanne Gillespie of Eugene, Oregon, her sisters Hilda Rice of Jacksonville Florida, Laura Morse and husband Ronald of Norway Maine, plus seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Betty was born May 20, 1933 in Norway, Maine then graduated from Norway High School in 1951. She trained at Robert-Walter Coiffeurs and Pierre-Marcel Coiffures in Boston Massachusetts to become a cosmetologist in 1953. She worked for more than 50 years as a licensed hairdresser in, Massachusetts, Florida, and California, owning the Blue and Gold Beauty Shop in Santa Cruz for 20 years. Betty will be laid to rest in a private service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Norway, Maine. Her family remembers Mom/Grammie as a card game expert, creative and talented seamstress, world traveler, fun loving and ready for any adventure. The family asks that she be remembered for all the joy she brought into our lives and not the sadness of her passing.
