Obituary of Joanne Ruth Johnstone

Joanne Ruth Johnstone (Jody), age 82, of Eugene, Oregon passed away peacefully early in the morning on August 30, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Jody was born April 26, 1941 in San Francisco, California to John & Ruth Hockaday. Early in life, she moved to Eugene, Oregon, where she was raised by her Grandmother & Grandfather, Eva & Lloyd Baker. Jody graduated from South Eugene High School in 1959 and attended the University of Oregon.

In 1972 Jody became a Realtor, a career that spanned over fifty years. Jody was well known for a close connection with clients who often became great, life-long friends. Over the years she earned her Real Estate Brokers license, Graduate, Realtors Institute certification (GRI), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and was a member of the Real-estate Million Dollar & Multi-million Dollar Clubs over multiple years. She also served as President of the Million Dollar Club. Jody was a member of many boards & associations, (Eugene Junior League, Eugene Symphony Guild among others) she also volunteered in the community.

Jody’s love & thoughtfulness for people led her to host many wonderful dinner parties and family events. She was a great conversationalist, an avid reader, focusing her reading on music, art and history. Jody’s love of classical music lead her to be a long-time Eugene Symphony Guild member, she was a wonderful piano player as well as an avid KWAX radio and OPB TV supporter.

Jody is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Trautman, son Todd Wylie (Kimberly) grandchildren Casey Giorgio (Anthony) Brandon Wylie (Amy) & Shelby Fountain (Keaton) along with four great-grandchildren, her brother, Paul Brydges, her aunt Marion Baker, cousins Patty Baker Winkelmann (Rob, Ashley), Scott Wetzel (Cindy), Bob Baker (Tina).

Memorial services to be held at 1:00pm on Saturday September 23rd at Musgrove Family Mortuary, West Lawn Memorial park, 225 South Danebo Ave, Eugene, Oregon 97402
