Obituary of Virgie Ellen Watson

VIRGIE E. WATSON (1927 – 1923)

Virgie Watson passed away July 3, 2023, in Springfield, Oregon at the age of 96 years.  Virgie was born January 14, 1927, in Cullowhee, NC to Bascom T. and Ollie B. Bryson.  November 16, 1946, she married Henry Watson who preceded her in death on April 17, 2014.  Together they moved west and settled in the Springfield area where they raised their two daughters.

Virgie was a meat wrapper for many years first at Springfield Packing, then Bright Oaks Meat where she retired in 2003.

Virgie is survived by her two daughters Sharon Addison (Stan) of Salem and Debra Goodrich (Randy) of Springfield.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Tricia Klock (Tony Lones), Nick Bays (Kristina Brannies), Michael Bays all of the Salem area, and Brian Goodrich, Brent Goodrich (Reni Cartwright), Kelli Heacock (Jeremiah) all of Springfield, and Melanie Bevens (David) of Keizer, Melissa Fadaoff (David) of Longview, WA, and Ed Addison (Aimee) of Arlee, MT.  Virgie also is survived by 20 great grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of joy.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Bristol Hospice and all the friends who provided much needed support.  They all have a very special place in our heart.

A celebration of life is planned for Virgie on Saturday, August 5, 1PM at Eastside Baptist Church, 4045 Commercial Ave., Springfield, OR.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bristol Hospice, Eugene location - https://bristolfoundation.org/donation-page/
