
Obituary of Rosalie Long
Rosalie Quinton Long of Springfield, Oregon, died Saturday, June 10, 2023. She was 80. Rosalie, a Native American, was born in Burbank, CA to David Quinton and Vivian Gates Quinton. She was a loving mother, wife, and businesswoman who positively impacted everyone in her community. She married and later divorced Walter A. Drews Jr. She later married Jay B. Long who preceded her in death.
Rosalie served as a 4-H and Brownie Leader teaching cooking, gardening and canning. She was also a master gardener who volunteered for the Lane County Extension. Moreover, she served on the Lane County Fair Board, and was a member of the Eugene Weavers Guild. Rosalie was a published author, clothing designer, and seamstress who owned Designs By A Thread. Rosalie was also known for being a pioneer artist in the development of 3-Dimensional Brazilian Embroidery. She was also part owner in Diversified Properties, a home construction business. She was a lover of the arts and enjoyed acting at the Very Little Theatre in the 1960s with Ed Ragozzino. She leaves behind five children: Libbie Rascon, Leslie Drews, Walter Drews III, Michael Drews, Tanner Drews, seven grandchildren: Chanel Adair Vivian, Steven Drews, Mason Drews, Chelsea Schneider, Walter Drews IV, Dakota McGinnis, Sierra McGinnis, three great-grandchildren: Elena Drews, Talia Drews, Liam Drews, and two brothers: Phil Quinton and Steven Quinton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Goshen Grange on August 4th at 10 a.m. Rosalie will be interred next to her husband at Lane Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Eugene, Oregon.
