Dan Duval

Obituary of Dan Raymond Duval

On June 1, 2023 Dan Duval passed away at the age of 91. He was born in Bellwood, Nebraska on October 15, 1931 to Charles and Bessie Duval.  The family moved to Oregon shortly thereafter.  He attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School in 1950.  Dan worked most of his life as a machinist in various machine shops in the area and liked to tinker in his garage workshop.  He also loved gardening and camping.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Dan married his wife, Julia Davis in 1952 and they enjoyed their marriage for 70 years.  He is survived by his wife Julia; his sons, Dan Duval and Richard Duval; two sisters, Charlene Narramore and Shirley Lynch; one brother, Glen Duval; three grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Dan and Julia liked to travel and made trips to Europe, Australia, the Caribbean, and many trips to Hawaii.   After retirement, they spent some years traveling in their motorhome around the U.S., eventually turning into Snowbirds, spending winters in the Palm Springs area until Dan’s health required them to stay put in Springfield.
Dan was a kind and gracious man with a sense of humor that made him want to make everyone laugh.  He loved his family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed visits with them.   He was a Jack-of-all-trades as a handyman/repairman around the house, and kept himself busy with projects until his health failed.  He will be sorely missed by everyone he knew.
