





Obituary of Margit Hollerud
Margit Hollerud passed peacefully on Saturday,February 25 th . She was born April 24th, 1930 in Tyristrand, Norway the youngest of ten children and lived to the age of 92.
Her life was a remarkable one that included nearly every adventure that a person could have. She traveled the world, enjoyed its arts and cultures and experienced the power and mystery of nature.
While living in Eugene, Margit was drawn to many organizations and activities. These included Sons of Norway, Obsidians, Daughters of Norway, Friends of the Library, and the Eugene Hotel. She also volunteered at the Library, the Hult Center & the Shedd Institute. She kept the Norwegian language alive by teaching classes for many years. She had a special knack for helping students understand the Norwegian culture. Through these classes she forged lifelong friendships.
She is preceded in death by her son, Reave. She is survived by her son, Ralph, her grandson, Joe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Norway. With all of life’s ups and downs her values stayed rooted in kindness, integrity and love. She will be missed by many.
A celebration of her remarkable life will be held May 24th 2:00 at the Sons of Norway Sonja Lodge, 710 McKinley St. Eugene.
