Obituary of Alice Fay Turner
Alice Turner was born on May 7th 1951 in Ashdown AK to Nealise and Lida Lee Jenkins. As a child Alice learned how to hunt, cook, and clean. She was a second mother to her siblings. At the age of 13, she moved to Oregon with her dad and grandma Jenny. Once in Oregon she adapted to her surroundings and made long lasting relationships.
Alice is a loving wife, mother, sister, cousin, and a friend. Alice married her first husband Edgar (Butch) Richey in 1966. In this marriage she gave birth to 5 children. Her eldest son Edgar Joseph Richey JR, son Joseph Barnette Richey, daughter Andrea Lovonne Ofodrinwa, twin daughters Lachonda Fay Miller and Rachelle Lynette Richey. Alice loved her family so much; she also helped raise her niece Trina Chenelle O’sheedy. Alice, married the love of her life Robert Earl Turner in 1979. They remained married to death due them part. Alice worked various jobs throughout her life, but her true love was working as a line cook for Stuart Anderson’s Black Angus. She worked there for almost 2 decades and had to retire due to a major back injury.
During her retirement Alice loved spending time with her family. All family was important to her especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved music, all kinds of music. She enjoyed sports, fishing, playing bingo, going to the machines, and watching Family Feud.
This is Alice’s season, she loved Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved cooking, she loved Christmas lights, she loved the family gatherings. She hated it when she could not cook the way she wanted to. She was depending on Rachelle and Prentis to get the flavors right, Isiah and Angie and Jennifer to taste test the food right. She wanted Prentis to be outside with his crew (Lonnie, John, Uncle Darren, Bernette) to hang her Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving.
Alice leaves behind her husband of 43 years, her children, her grandchildren Prentis Richey, Ryan Richey, Jennifer Richey, Cecily Stockdale, Callie Coppage, Joseph Parra, Dominique Ditlefsen, Ashley Benette-Richey, Isiah Stiles, Arryanna Stiles, Trinity Larson, Temera Larson, Tobias Wallace, Tianna & Timothy Miller, her great grandchildren Prentis Jr., Giovanni, Zarriayha, Kingston, Aiyana, David, Taleah, Joseph, Ezekiel, Amiyah, Anthony, Arroyal. Her siblings, Janice Rucker, Von Jenkins, Linda Payne, Darren Jenkins, and Annalee Jenkins and a whole lot of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins and friends. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers Matt Williams, Neal Jenkins, Hart Jenkins, her sisters Diane Jenkins, and Esther Reynolds.
Alice was full of life. She was blindsided by cancer. Her light was still as bright as it could be even with all her pain, she tried to keep her sense of humor. Alice is absolutely loved and will be missed by all.
