Ralph Edward Duhn, 79, a resident of Springfield, Oregon, died on April 24, 2022. He was born in Monterey Park, California, on July 30, 1942, to John Henry and Virginia Ann Miller Duhn. He moved to Oregon in 1970 and traveled extensively throughout the United States. He is survived by three sisters: Shirley Nagy, Springfield, OR, Annette Peterson, Emmetsburg, IA, and Joyce Froisland, Emmetsburg, IA; four brothers: Grant Duhn, Wallingford, IA, Wendell Duhn, Emmetsburg, IA, Brian Duhn, Emmetsburg, IA, and James Duhn, Fort Dodge, IA; former wife, Carol Kolseth Clark, Seminole, FL; former wife, Jessica Fuller Dickinson, Bend, OR; three children: Mark Duhn, Junction City, OR, Eric Duhn, Bend, OR and Rebecca Bond, Albany, OR; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A machinist by trade, he worked for Hurd’s Hardware in Harrisburg, Oregon, for 25 years before returning to a life of travel. He was also an accomplished bowler, avid gardener, talented artist, string theorist and pyrotechnician as a proud member of Sky Jewelers. He lived a frugal life, had a deep appreciation for nature and left the smallest of footprints on his environment through his commitment to live a simple life.
Ralph was buried at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City, Oregon, and the family will have a small private celebration of life at a later time. Memorials may be made to Pete Moore Hospice House through Cascade Health Foundation, 2650 Suzanne Way Suite 200, Eugene, OR 97408.
