Obituary of Ethel Mae Barclay

Ethel Mae Barclay, a long time Eugene resident passed away at the age of 88. She was born to Howard and Bernice Wilson in Butte, Montana spending her early childhood in Portland. She completed her grade school through high school years in Roseburg, Oregon. Upon graduation Ethel worked as a dental assistant, married, and moved to Eugene.
Ethel was proud of her 35 years as director and office manager at the Eugene Montessori School. She cherished the relationships that she developed with the children and their families over the many years she worked at the school. Ethel was an avid Oregon Duck football fan and attended years of football games as a season ticket holder. She brought immense joy to others with her thoughtfulness. Ethel is fondly remembered for her quick wit, love of laughter and mochas! 
Ethel is survived by her children Ed (Marta) Barclay, Barbara Amling, and Michael (Denise) Barclay. Her 7 grandchildren Emily (Jon), Michael, Melissa (Crary), Caroline (Colby), Thomas, Amanda, and Alyssa. Along with 4 great grandchildren and her sister Merrijean Pinard.
A funeral mass with a reception following will be at St. Paul’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 27 at 1 pm.
Donations are welcome in Ethel’s memory to Cascade Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
