Obituary of Stephen Gerard Zoellner
Stephen Gerard Zoellner was born on March 2, 1967, to Dorothy Agnes Zoellner and John J. Zoellner, Sr. in St. Charles, Missouri and left this earth on April 9, 2022, in Creswell, Oregon. Stephen was preceded in death by his father. Heaven may not be ready for the two of them exchanging puns as they did so often when together. He leaves behind his loving mother, Dorothy (O’Fallon, MO), four siblings John Zoellner, Jr. (Sharon) (Henderson, NV), Patricia Crossen (O’Fallon, MO), James Zoellner (Madonna),( St. Peters, MO), and Mary Zoellner (Eugene, OR). He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve graduated from St. Dominic High School, in O’Fallon, MO, in 1985 and completed his Aerospace Engineering degree from Parks College in 1989. He worked in the Aerospace industry until 2006, when he moved to Oregon to further his interest in organic farming and permaculture. He volunteered at organic farms and community gardens to grow his knowledge. Recently Steve had begun studying Network Administration preparing to start a new chapter in his life.
Steve enjoyed hiking, gardening, and spending time in nature. He appreciated the unique beauty in nature, always amazed at the beautiful colors. Like many of his family members, he was a voracious reader, loved building jigsaw puzzles and had a wonderful sense of humor! He was extremely adept at building projects and working with his hands. He even taught himself guitar at the age of 40.
Steve had a special affinity for trees and plants. Planting a tree in the Oregon Willamette Forest would be a special way to memorialize Steve.
