I was unsure about writing anything as I only knew Steve as a young child. His older sister Pat and I were friends and remain so. But I felt his childhood home was important to state as I always felt happy and exposed to things I loved pets, books and music. I was a very shy child but always ready to go there as I felt safe.
Steve’s dad John always seemed to be laughing and joking with my dad. Steve’s mom Dorothy was so sweet and surrounded her children in music. I loved going there playing with Pati - reading, playing with her pets and being exposed to music. I was exposed to musical instruments where I heard drums, piano and first exposed to and amazed by an accordion.
I always felt the Zoellner kids were so lucky. When I reflect on my childhood their home was a happy memory. One I considered and reflected when I raised my own children with pets, reading, music/ musical instruments and laughing.
