Obituary of Thomas Kieran O'Brien

A Funeral Mass is scheduled at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on 4/12 at 12:15pm.

 

Thomas was born 7/13/1934 in Brooklyn N.Y. to Thomas and Mary O’Brien. He attended St. John’s University before being drafted to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was a medic. Upon his return, Thomas worked at a local N.Y. hospital where he meet the love of his life, Ernestine. They married on 6/2/1957 and shared 64 wonderful years together.

 

Thomas was a successful self-made businessman and business owner. He loved to travel, read, cook, play Pinochle and do crossword puzzles (in pen).

 

Thomas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his younger brother Doug, his four children Mary, Jean, Ellen Carrell & Thomas. As well as his four grandchildren and three great granddaughters.

 

Thomas died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
