Obituary of Patricia "Pat" May
Patricia Darlene (Pat) May was born December 3rd, 1934, the oldest of three children born to Thomas and Mary Minter. She passed away March 14, 2022 due to complications from pneumonia. She is survived by her brother James, her five children, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren (and counting).
Pat loved horses from the time she was a child, owned horses throughout her life, and even in her last days dreamed of riding a horse again.
Pat lived in Horton, Oregon for most of her life. She is a graduate of Triangle Lake High School and Oregon State University. She studied nursing and worked as school nurse at Triangle Lake High School for many years, serving the community, as well as the school, as the local medical first responder for everything from dog bites to broken necks. She ran a local “Well Child Clinic” for years through the school, recruiting a pediatric doctor from Eugene who volunteered to come out and give young children from local families free check-ups.
Pat was married to Norman May on June 10th, 1956. Together they raised five children of their own and took in several others for different periods of time along the way. Pat was active in the local church community and taught Bible School, Sunday School, Good News Club, and women’s Bible Studies. Pat had a servant’s heart; she cared for family members in their twilight years at various times throughout her life. She loved Jesus and she loved people. “Well done, good and faithful one. Welcome Home.” A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 26 at Memorial Community Church, with a reception immediately following at the Triangle Grange. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary. Please access the obituary and you are invited to sign the guestbook at musgroves.com
