This woman of God was my music teacher, Rejoice director, but most of all my friend. Her love for the Lord radiated in everything she said & did. My first blessing from her was in Des Moines, IA. I was in "Music with a Purpose" & she was one of the judges. I saw & felt her sweet spirit encouraging me that day. When i arrived @ EBC in 1988, she was one of only a couple people i knew there & she remembered me. Being under her direction in Rejoice, our singing group @ EBC, she so encouraged me in a way that only she could. Mrs. Hunt, your life is a shining reflection of our Precious Lord. You have earned your Heavenly wings. I know you're singing in the Heavenly Choir Sister Hunt, until we meet again.

My wife and I met Doris 15 years ago when we moved in next door. She soon adopted my wife as her daughter and "allowed" me to be her son-in-law. Eventually she also considered me to be a son.... We witnessed first hand her generosity and love. She was such an example of God's love and faithfulness. One of her motto's came from the gospel of John 2:5 in preperation for Jesus to turn water into wine at the wedding, his mother Mary told the workers, "Whatever he tells you to do, do it.". That was not just a motto, Doris lived those words with faith like I've never seen before. We were so blessed to have known her. She will be missed, but her legacy and life lives on, in the lives of those she encouraged, influenced and invested her life into, her family, students, and friends are grateful for her investment into our lives.
