Obituary of Thelma Dean (Baker) Fisk
Thelma Dean Fisk passed away on October 17th in Eugene, Oregon at the age of 87. She was born in Lakin, Kansas in 1934 to James and Opal Gregory. She graduated from Elmira High School in 1952 and married Charles Baker that summer. Charles passed away in 1984 and in 1986 she married Calvin Fisk. Calvin preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by her daughter Renee Ota of Noti, sons Steven and Michael Baker of Noti and Gregory Baker of Elmira. She also had 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Thelma worked for the Fern Ridge School District for many years as a Librarian and then at Key Bank in Veneta until her retirement.
Before Alzheimers took control of her body, Thelma loved spending time in Yachats and Molokai, gardening, listening to Eddie Arnold, being with her family and friends and watching her grandkids play sports.
A special thanks to her nurses with Sacred Heart Hospice & her caregivers at her Care Facility Dexter, Amahd and Jamie for the compassion they showed her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6th at 1:00 at 80277 Territorial Hwy. Lorane, Oregon. Located next door to the Lorane Post Office. Lunch will be served, casual warm dress. Out of respect to all, please wear a mask.
