Mrs. Alvergue was my Junior High Home Economics teacher at Briggs in 1974/75. She was a wonderful teacher and when I found out I was pregnant, at 14, she became the watchful eye for my safety. It seemed like wherever I looked she was there. It couldn't have been possible she had classes to teach but it seemed like she was always there keeping a watchful eye on me. As with most things in life I was always going to contact her and let here know how things turned out for me but life gets busy and now she's gone. It makes me so sad to know she's gone, such a bright light, she's a angel now watching over the people she loves. I hope I'm one them. Condolences to her close friends and family, she was a wonderful person.

I was always happy to see Flo when our paths crossed over the many years of my friendship with Anne. Her smile and warmth radiated energy and a genuine interest in other people. The last time I saw her she was heading into Manhattan to see a Broadway show, full of enthusiasm and positive spirit. It's so sad that she was taken from the world too soon.

I was so sad to hear of Flo's death. She was such a vital part of the English Department at SEHS, and she has contributed so much to our Eugene community since her retirement. My heart goes out to her daughter and her family - may Flo's memory be blessed.

Flo was a long-time member and volunteer with Lane County Audubon Society. She attended our Program meetings and volunteered at our booth activities around the community. Each year she also attended our Volunteer potluck. I would often see Flo at the Eugene symphony and at other activities in Eugene. She was a caring, warm person, I will miss seeing. My sympathy goes out to her family and other friends.
In sadness, Maeve Sowles

When I was in grade school @ Edgewood Elementary. Anne & I became best buddies. I would spend time at the Alvergue home, Flo was so much fun! She would do cooking & crafts and all sorts of fun activities with us, like swimming, dancing, music & slumber parties. She was such a a creative, inspiring person who loved her family immensely. Rest in Peace Flo

My heart is broken over Flo's passing. Though I didn't know her well, our lives intertwined over the decades with multiple connections and our paths would frequently cross in chance encounters. I came away from every one of them, however brief, feeling enriched by the connection. She was an exceptional person. Kirk and I will remember and miss her, and pray for her family.

Flo was one of the first people to welcome me to Eugene. She and I touched bases through the years at First United Methodist Preschool, League of Women Voters and at SEHS. She was a warm, caring soul and will be missed greatly.

My heart was broken upon hearing of Flo's death. Flo was a sweeter, more compassionate person than any I know. I never saw her without a smile on her face and kind words coming from her mouth. Flo substituted for me on occasion at Roosevelt Middle School. I would also see Flo at the Very Little Theatre here in Eugene.
I cannot imagine the pain you, her family, and close friends are feeling. Death is hard enough without knowing life was taken unnaturally. I have been praying for the family and will continue to do so. May you all find comfort and peace in the loving memories of Flo which will always be with you.
