Robert Stafford Robert Stafford A private family service will be held for Robert R. “Bob” Stafford of Eugene, who died Sept. 10 of age-related causes. He was 89. Stafford was born May 14, 1920, in Eugene to Lloyd and Margaret Rhodes Stafford. He married Rita Henry on April 11, 1943, at Elgin Airfield in Florida. They later divorced. He attended the University of Oregon until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, where he served from 1941 to 1945 as a radar countermeasures officer. He was an agriculture and irrigation innovator and founder-owner of Stafford Farms, Stafford’s Irrigation Service, Agriculture and Water Services and Grow Agriculture Naturally. Survivors include two sons, Rick of London, England, and Ken of Auburn, Mass.; a daughter, Patty Wightman of Portland; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
